Climate change training workshops - Full Story
img
Three free climate change workshops for KS2 primary school headteachers, teachers and teaching assistants are taking place in different locations across the county during November.
The 2.5 hour workshops will be based on material covered in the “Guide to Teaching about Climate Change at KS2” that was developed by Sam Woodhouse, Associate Consultant for Geography and Citizenship.

The workshops will provide an opportunity to find out more about the issue of climate change, see the guide demonstrated, including the various teaching methodologies and ICT applications, with time to try out some of the activities, and think through the use of the resource for your own school.

Representatives from Somerset Waste Action Programme will also be present to talk to you about their environmental education programmes.

Participants are invited to bring their own laptops with battery power for use during the latter part of the session.

The dates and locations of the workshops are:

· Monday 12th November, 2 pm, in Taunton

· Thursday 15th November, 10 am, in Wells

· Wednesday 21st November, 2 pm, in Yeovil

Places are limited to 20 per workshop, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
