Climate change is an urgent global issue - but it will also have a big impact on us here in Somerset. Rising to the Challenge was a climate change awareness campaign run by Somerset County Council in partnership with many local organisations, which ran during 2007. Although the campaign has now ended there is still information on this site about climate change, its impacts and what we can do about it, that you may find useful. Schools take on climate challenge Over 700 7 – 11 year olds from 13 primary and first schools across Somerset have so far taken part in the climate change assemblies and workshops. Climate Café tours Somerset The Climate Café has now visited 16 town centres, festivals and fayres across Somerset, raising awareness of climate change and what it means for us.
